Due to a lack of space, nearly 6 000 disabled children will be forced to stay at home at the beginning of school year 2013 – and this is most likely the tip of the iceberg only.
In a progress report issued in July 2012 (PDF), senators Claire-Lise Campion and Isabelle Debré have estimated that nearly 20 000 disabled children subject to compulsory education are not attending school.
